BJJ classes are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Gardner Hall, located at 204 S 46th Avenue, Yakima, WA, 98908.  Placement into the three classes described below is at the discretion of our coaches and is based on the student’s experience, age, and physical attributes.  Depending on interest and readiness, some athletes have the honor of representing AJA at local, national, and international BJJ tournaments.

I. Beginner Class [M/W 5:00 to 5:45]

Our Beginner Class is offered to beginner athletes from ages 5 to 16.  The goals are fun, efficient movement, and physical conditioning.  Basic positional awareness and transitions are introduced.



II. Intermediate Class [M/W 5:45 to 6:30]

Our Intermediate Class is offered to athletes from ages 5 to 16 who have had some previous experience in BJJ.  The goals are fun, self-defense basics, and physical conditioning.  Advanced positional awareness and basic submissions are introduced.




III. Advanced Class [M/W 6:30 to 7:30]

Our Advanced Class is offered to advanced BJJ athletes from ages 8 to 16.  The goals of this class are fun and physical conditioning with emphasis on positional advancement and chaining submissions.
